I used these fun free printables from Pizzazzerie to create my son's classroom treats for Christmas.  You can download them HERE.

diy holiday candy train

I remember receiving one of these candy trains from my piano teacher back when I was in Junior High so needless to say they've been around for awhile.

There are more elaborate trains out there but I think this one is simple and sweet.

You'll need:

• Round Mints
• Pack of Gum (these were VERY HARD to find, I checked several stored and finally found them at Bartell's)
• Rolos or Reeses Peanut Butter Cups (I used Rolos because of nut allergies)
• Hershey Kisses
• Pack of Lifesavers
• Hot Glue Gun

 First you'll need to hot glue the ends of the peppermint wrapper to one side.  That way they are not sticking out when you glue them to the train.

Glue the Lifesavers to the gum pack.

 

Next glue the four peppermint wheels to the gum.  Make sure to glue the ends to the gum so the "nice" side is showing.

 

 Lastly glue on the Hershey Kiss and Rolo.  Easy and cute!

 

 

Target Black Friday

I normally love all things Target but when I saw this commercial for their Black Friday sales I was totally annoyed! Don't get me wrong I love a good deal and we do give gifts at Christmas but the selfish message of this commercial is a bit over the top. Isn't it obnoxious? Sometimes I get tired of the whole "give me give me" vibe of the holiday season. My son was watching a Lilo and Stitch episode and it was Stitch's first Christmas. It was all about the presents.- when my son saw it he said...

"They're wrong Christmas isn't just about presents... it's about loving Jesus."

If you haven't been on Pinterest lately they've added a new feature..."Secret Boards".

Or maybe if you had weird stalkers this would be a perfect way to pin something without them seeing...just saying.

To access them you scroll down your boards on your profile page and you'll find them at the bottom...now you only get three secret boards so choose wisely!!  :)
